Seniors Aidan Skye J. and Jacob G. had a successful trip to the Virginia Theater Association Conference. Aidan Skye received an honorable mention for her entry into the Costume Design Competition and Jacob G. got 9 callbacks from colleges!


Fall 2019 Community Service Day with Feeding America
Our students spent a rewarding day either helping out at Feeding America SW Virginia or the Habitat Re-Store, Roanoke Valley.


Volunteering for the Superhero Kids Program
The Super Hero Kids program focuses on a therapeutic approach to help children who are survivors of domestic violence create lasting, meaningful relationships. Stephanie organizes CHS students interested in volunteering through a number of activities designed for the program.


Brian Counihan Helps Coordinate Roanoke’s Festival of Korean Letters
Roanoke Valley Sister Cities and Taubman Museum of Art held this event to celebrate Korea’s Alphabet Day, a national holiday in Korea! As chair of the Wonju-Roanoke Sister cities committee, Brian organized this event to include games involving Hangul: the world’s most scientific alphabet, a Korean Haiku (Sijo) poetry workshop, and a K-pop dance showcase.

Final Mythology Projects from Arthur: Warlord / Chieftain / King
Warren and Olchar’s class created everything from Irish Princesses to puppet shows, and felt deer to armored costumes. These creative final projects showed the students’ understanding and engagement with the symbolic and intertextual logics of Arthurian mythology.
