Pi Day Race
Even though it rained, Mellisa and Lucy B. still ran the Pi Day race Mellisa’s PE students had prepared – 3.14 miles! Meanwhile, other students stirred up some dry ice ice cream to enjoy.




The Creative Writing Class Plays “THE GAME OF _IF_ “
Olchar’s Creative Writing class played an altered version of the board game “The Game of Life.” In this creative version, the currency is words the students had to use to write their poems.


The Feminism Class Visits the Taubman Museum
Stephanie’s class on feminism was inspired by the 1970s and 1980s Guerrilla Girls to see if representation of women artists had improved since then. They spent the class period taking a look around the Taubman Museum, and noted only a total of 8 female artists on display.




Harrison Museum Volunteers
Noor F., Daniel C., and Sarah L. worked on a Harrison Museum project which helped to preserve the perspectives of local African Americans on the history of the Roanoke area.


Mardi Gras Celebration!
The French Club hosted a grand Mardi Gras celebration, complete with fresh crepes made by Chef Sarah!


Lane Kinsley’s (’17) Production of An Enemy of the People
CHS alumnus Lane Kinsley (’17) has designed the video, projections, and music for Roanoke College’s winter production of An Enemy of the People by Hendrik Ibsen. The production’s plot was about an environmental issue that tied in and created parallels to current environmental events.
