The Theater Department of Community High School gave a great presentation of Much Ado About Nothing, William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy of Romance and Manners in the June M. McBroom Theater.
The home of Leonato, governor of Messina, becomes a haven for romance, when Prince Don Pedro visits bringing lifelong friends Benedict and Claudio, who have just returned from the battlefield. Reacquainted with his ‘nemesis’ Beatrice, Benedict instantly exchanges insults with her, while Claudio seeks help from Don Pedro to woo Leonato’s daughter, Hero. Before Shakespeare’s couples can be matched, heads will bump, misunderstandings ensue, evil pranks and a fake funeral needs staging.
