Our CHS performance band “Desmond“, played a free public show in CHS’s June M. McBroom Theatre.
Our band has come along way in two months! Opening with the theme to AMC’s “Better Call Saul,” featuring drummer Liam N on vocals, and guitarist Desi G, they continued to rock with the Avett Brothers’ “Bleeding White,” highlighting bassist Alden B and pianist Emma S.
Exploring the moody alternative group MGMT, the band performed “Flash Delirium” featuring the electronic sounds of Mehdi E on auxiliary keyboard. Then, frontman Ben M picked up a guitar and they launched into fast punk-rock with “Raised Eyebrows” by The Feelies, which even got the school’s Director, Josh, into the mosh pit!
Finally, inspired by John Mcbroom, they closed the performance with an extended jam on the Jimi Hendrix version of “All Along the Watchtower“, featuring Ben M on vocals and sax, with some amazing solos from both sax and Desi’s guitar!
