Standing Strong Planned Parenthood Luncheon
Each year, Planned Parenthood of Roanoke hosts a fundraising luncheon to support low-income healthcare for the greater Roanoke Valley. Students from CHS attend each year as guests of the fundraising board.
U.S. History Class Researches in the Virginia Room Downtown
Students in the U.S. History class spent three weeks delving into archival research about local history at the Virginia Room special collections library in downtown Roanoke. Each student chose a local topic of interest to them and used original documents, newspapers, sanborn maps, archival flat files, genealogical resources, and more to trace its history in the Valley over the last 150 years.
Engineering Rockets and Cars
The CHS Engineering class successfully set off the model rockets they designed in the fall – nice work, all.
CHS Junior Yeshe C. Studies Abroad In Italy
Yeshe spent time abroad over the summer living near Turin, in the northern part of Italy. She found the experience and the people to be wonderful. She picked up Italian quickly after some time, though at first she found it difficult.
Yeshe shares:
“This experience really has taught me a lot about my worldview and view of life; it is fun and challenging at the same time.”
