VTA 2024 Conference – Olivia L
At the Virginia Theater Association conference this fall, senior Olivia L attended stage combat, filmmaking, networking, and other fun actor workshops. Les helped Olivia rehearse a 60-second monologue that landed her 14 callbacks from prospective colleges, allowing her the opportunity to chat directly with professors from each college about their theater programs. She individually workshopped with professors from Christopher Newport Univerisy and Virgina Tech on her monologue, and also worked on making connections with scene partners with professors from James Madison University. She also earned two scholarship offers from Randolph College and Rowan University!Olivia said this was
“a really useful experience for me to learn more about certain colleges and their theater programs. I connected with a lot of the professors that I met and even went on tours and attended theater major days for colleges that I was interested in at [the conference].”
