Poe Celebration Field Trip
Film students of the Horror & Comedy and Sci-Fi Cinema Film History classes travelled to Richmond for the Poe Museum’s Centennial Celebration. MathLibs
Bethany’s Calculus students challenged each other with “Math-Libs”. Students took turns choosing a classmate, math problem, and activity (like jumping, snapping, humming, etc). Then the chosen student had to complete the problem while doing the activity. Lifelines were allowed.
Spooky Photographs
Students in the Film Production: Horror & Comedy class experimented with on-screen space, off-screen space, and the rule of thirds to spook spectators in these photographs.
Les Epstein in “Bike Cops”
Les Epstein stared as the “Unkempt Man” in the short film, “Bike Cops,” which premiered at the Texas Short Film Festival in San Antonio in January 2023. It has subsequently been shown by the Transparent Film Festival (NYC) on their website.

Léa, our French exchange student from Bichancourt, France, spent a full school year taking classes at CHS and enjoyed her time here in the US.
Avery M Wins Banner Design
To celebrate our school community and create a sense of belonging, we held a school banner contest for the 2022-23 school year. Students were asked to submit banner artwork to represent our community values. Students and faculty then voted on which design they felt represented us and captured how unique, diverse, and vibrant we are. […]
Jenga Math
Jess’s Algebra students mixed it up in class using a Jenga set. Each block has an equation on the visible long side and the answer on the hidden side. You have to solve the equation before you pull the block, and if you get it wrong you’ll have to go again.
Calculus Assistants
CHS alumni Jacob M (’22) and Archer B (’22) came by to help with the Calculus classes. Jacob has declared himself a Math major after completing his first semester in college. Archer currently attends the University of Virginia.
Alastair Storm (’22) Returns to the CHS Stage
Alum Alastair Storm (’22) was a last minute guest performer for an ill actor in the Fall 2022 Theater Production performance of “100 Dresses“.
