Pi Day Race

Stephanie’s class on feminism was inspired by the 1970s and 1980s Guerrilla Girls to see if representation of women artists had improved since then. They spent the class period taking a look around the Taubman Museum, and noted only a total of 8 female artists on display.
The French Club hosted a grand Mardi Gras celebration, complete with fresh crepes made by Chef Sarah!
Cam from Garden Variety Harvests hosted our environmental science students at two of his urban farm sites in our neighborhood! Students learned a ton and are excited to find ways to help out in the future.
The ComMUN team competed against 900 other students at the conference, with some teams from as far away as Italy. Despite the jam-packed morning-and-night schedules, they received multiple awards for their performance even though it was their first time attending this conference.
CHS students Yutika P won a Verbal Commendation (4th place) in National Honduras Police, Morgan B. won Outstanding Delegate (second place) in SOCHUM for her representation of Ecuador,
Sam P. and Tallulah C. won Best Delegate (first place) for their representation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in CARICOM!
Nature club has set up a compost bin in the school yard outside! All you have to do is put your food scraps into the stainless-steel collection bin located in the student lounge according to the instructions found here. The proper food scraps can also be placed directly into the bin if you are already outside.
The Funkin Donuts Fairy Club, one of the Dungeon and Dragons groups from CHS, played a game live on 95.7 FM. We tuned in to hear it all unfold between the characters created by Berty A, Sam D, Brian S, Ella B, Fiona J, Sarah L, orchestrated by their Dungeon Master, Jonah C.

BROOMS UP! Fellow school mates came out to support the Community High School Dragons Quidditch team play at the Drill Field on Virginia Tech’s campus in Blacksburg,
