As our yearly tradition, our senior class participated in a two day how-to experience design to help them with every aspect of the college application journey. The retreat was once again at Hollins University.
This opportunity provided a clear and dedicated time and space away from family, work, and the classroom, to tackle the college application process. They not only focused on the importance of writing effective essays, but students also participated in mock admissions panels. The students gained a new perspective on preparing their applications. They evaluated essays, transcripts, and letters of recommendation as if they were a college admission department and determined which students they would admit to their university.
